How do I silence the telephone back-up battery alarm permanently.?
My battery ran out and I was told that it wasn't necessary to replace it. However, the battery alarm beeps twice every five minutes of so with the battery out.
Why don't you just remove It?

Sorry, I didn't see at first that you had removed it. If I think of something, I'll get back to you as when our battery stops working,we aren't going to replace it either. I'll just use my cell phone until phone service is restored. Or better yet get rid of landline service!!!
According to the Fios User Guide that we got when we first got Fios, you can silence the alarm by pressing the Alarm Silence button. On ours it is a blue button. It should shut off when the power is restored or you remove the battery---but evidently not working for you. (Fios User Guide:page 58)
