I have digital phone but every time I recive a call i can not return it as it lacks the area code

force that on our digital phones or remove it as it a royal pain

Every phone is different but on our phone we have the option to enter the area code so that if a local call is received it will display the 7 digit number. Check your phone and see if there is an option for this.
