I upgraded my DSL internet and i followed the directions, when it comes to installing the verizon high speed software it gets to 5% and dosen't move.

Since i only upgraded my service to i need to install the software?
You should not need to install any software on your pc to connect to DSL, assuming your drivers are up to date. You might want to reboot your modem and pc, but it shouldn't be necessary.
Have you checked to see if you are getting your new speed?
