IFC channel being dropped

So now Verizon decides to eliminate IFC as part of HBO package - as of 10/13/2011. They offer no explanation. Will they be lowering the price for HBO - ha..ha..ha. I thought we were supposed to get more channels, not lose channels. What package do you now need to get the IFC channel. And really, why isn't that channel just part of the basic package - it should not be considered a premium channel - they show commercials. What's up Verizon - aren't you ripping us off enough already?

Sorry but I do NOT agree with you. The IFC channel has basically become garbage, it doesn't really show Indy movies anymore and is now overloaded with commercials. Hell I turned it on last night and they were showing Malcom in the Middle reruns, REALLY!?!?!!?!?!?!?! I thought IFC stood for Independent FILM Channel. Verizon is NOT ripping us off, they are doing us a favor as far as I am concerned. IFC used to be one of my favorite channels, now it's just another crap channel mostly showing bad reruns of bad tv shows (though I am a huge Arrested Development fan).

It would seem the IFC channel is being handled the same as AMC, another former great channel that has turned to garbage. And we are NOT losing any channels, they just moved it.

where are they moving it to? Believe me, I don't think it's a great channel and as I said I could never understand why it was considered a premium channel when it was loaded with commercials.

Nobody ever said the channel was being dropped, it was moved in certain tiers. IFC is still there and as bad as ever. Smiley Embarassed

I'm so **bleep**!!!!. Was just watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with my 8 yr old. Next thing I know it was over and went into Cheech and Chong animated ...singing "I love marijuana" and was showing a female sitting Unreal ... Kids movie then that crap..
