My text messages aren't being received

I am finding that people I text all the time are not receiving my messages. I have some people that I text all the time that ARE receiving my messages. From what I can gather, they are all different cell phone providers, Verizon, US Cellular, etc....so I'm thinking it has to be my Verizon account??? Any ideas of what is happening?

Did this just start to happen? Try dialing *228 and option 1 to reset your phone - it helps in a lot of cases.

Be sure you have the full 10 digit phone number for people in your contact list.

Try to see if there is a pattern to the messages that are not received...is it only when you initiate the message? Can you reply to texts and they are received? Certain times of day that texts don't go through? Certain locations?

I am also having this problem. My husband (who is on my acct) is not recieving my text messages all of a sudden. He does recieve phone calls from me. Whe he texts me I recieve his - what is happening here. I have narrowed it down to have started on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, Yes we have the correct numbers programed in our phones, because as I said we have been texting for years! Another note - my daughter who is also on the plan receives texts from me so whats up? :smileymad:

OMG - I am having the same problem and it too started on Wed. Sept. 15. My son, daughter and myself are all on the same account. My son and daughter have the exact same phone. I have not been receiving any text from my daughter. She receives mine and replies back and it says that the messages were sent. She can also receive my call and I can receive hers. I have no problems receiving text from my son. I just cannot receive text from my daughter. Verizon has been no help as of yet. Are there others out there with the same problem as ours and has anyone found a solution?

If you have a 1 at the beginning of the number remove it so you only have the 10 digit number. Worked for me.

I have had the same problem. But my problem is that people on other carriers are not getting my texts. Other Verizon customers are getting them & my BBM is working fine. I spent over an hour on the phone with someone from technical support & ended up completely wiping my phone. It worked for about an hour, then stopped working again.

I am having the same issues! My husband and I both have Verizon. I have an HTC Thunderbolt and he has the Bionic. He isn't receiving my messages, but I am getting his though. Help! This is not good.

I am also having the same issue. Two people whom I have texted in the past didn't receive messages form me. They received messages before and messages after, even on the same day, but some were skipped. How do we get help on this issue?

It can be very frustrating when people don't receive your messages. Let's look into this and get this fixed immediately.

Was this a one time event or is it an on going problem? What type of device do you have? Do you have a signature on your device or the person that you are replying to? A signature could be "sent from Joe's phone" or a smiley face or symbols. If so please remove and retest. Have you tried SuzyQ suggestions?

Please delete all old text messages and retry. Please let me know if you are still experiencing this issue and we will further troubleshoot with you.

Hello Joe- It was not a one time event. It is intermittent and reoccurring still. I have an iphone 4, no signature. As apple does not provide a way to back up text messages, I am unable to just delete them off my phone- there are records of transactions and conversations that I need. I just came to verizon from ATT last month. I did not have this problem with ATT regardless of the number of text messages on my phone. As it is something not being received, its hard to tell the extent of the damage...

same problem. i am iphone verizon. girlfriend is att. text all the time. one week ago she doesnt receive any texts from me. she gets them from others. others get them from me although some do not. hers to me come through fine. i've tried everything on all the message boards but no good.

I am having similar problems. Since probably December, my husband rarely receives my text messages. I receive his and can text and receive messages from everyone else. He doesn't have any problem texting or receiving messages from anyone else. I have called Verizon about this problem twice now and have gone to the store and they changed my sim card. When I talked to technical support all they did was have me remove my battery and sim card for a min before replacing it. Each time my husband was able to receive my messages for no more than a day and then it was back to not being able to get them. My phone does say that they are all sent though. We have both cleared our data for messaging and cleared all of our messages to make sure storage wasn't an issue. . . What is going on!
