Received letter that I would be able to get a FREE upgrade to my internet for 12 months at verizon.com/tonsofspeed but cannot get to that site. Is this a scam?

Try it when you are not logged into Verizon. When I checked that URL, it didn't work until after I logged out.
That did not work but Live Chat solved it for me.
