Why is the subject channel(#95) only available in SD, yet the NBCSportsnetwork is in HD(#590)? The CBS sports channel is showing a lot of college sports, but who wants to watch it SD with a HD tv?
At this point, it looks like the channels that Verizon is slowly adding in HD are on the most widely subscribed packages. CBS SN is on the Ultimate HD package, which I've heard that less than 10% of customers get. I wouldn't expect to see it in HD on FiOS anytime soon.
CAPS09, thanks for the info! I have the Ultimate package, got a great deal on line, but not happy with the SD channels on some of the sports networks. Thanks again!
Not a problem. I have ultimate too, and while it stinks not having certain channels in HD, I'm glad to be getting them at all (like national versions of NESN, Longhorn, and SNY). Many of them are shown in 16:9 though, so you can easily zoom in by pressing the # key three times. This way the screen will at least be filled.
This is a great annoyance during the football season when CBS Sportsnetwork carries a lot of CUSA games. FIOS's local competitor (Cox) offers it in HD.
When I first switched to FIOS, they had a lot of things I couldn't get on Cox, but the lack of CBS Sports HD and the lack of the PAC 12 network have me leaning towards switching back.
