Texting problems - andriod to andriod??

Recently, every time i am texting a friend of mine and i send a text that is over 160 characters i get a reply message saying, "Message delivered to (phone number) as plain text Destination does not support enhanced messaging service."and he got the following message saying, "preceding msg modified, media objects were removed."

 

I have a Motorola Droid and he has a Samsung Fascinate.

 

this doesnt happen with any other people i text, even if they have another andriod device..

 

Please help, this is very irritating.

If a Verizon Wireless customer's device supports the sending of messages > 160 characters*, the following happens:

• Entire message (up to 1120 characters) arrives to recipient as plain text in multiple SMS segments.

Not all VZW devices support the ability to send messages > 160 characters or EMS (Extended Length Messages). Today, most feature devices support this capability but many Smartphones (e.g. most RIM BlackBerry devices, Windows Mobile devices, etc.) do not support this functionality

 

Types of Messages

Your phone supports these types of messages:

• Text messages: Send and receive simple messages containing text to

other mobile phones or email addresses (also known as SMS).

• Multimedia messages: Send and receive text messages with pictures

and/or sound to other mobile phones or email addresses (also known
