Improper copywrite

I had a message sent from you guys saying that i had a copywrite infringment from my ip address but the site you listed it from for the download has a very forward section saying it is not in copywrite infringment with its files and that if any sees different they are to contact them and they will sort out the issue. I was looking for a legal way to watch the episode I missed from my tv series and I am just looking to see if this information is wrong and it does have copywrite problems or if something should be done about this site because it is very miss leading if not since there really is no way of me knowing before hand. I would like my warning to be removed either way due to the fact that I was in no way aware that there was something wrong with what I was doing and would not of done it if the information presented to me was accurate to the laws.

As a general rule, if you are torrenting the content, it's probably copywrite infringement. There are very few large copywrite holders that actually allow their content to me downloaded in this way.

What show are you trying to catch up on? (I'm curious.)

This +1. Kick **bleep** Torrents links to (not hosts!) a bunch of pirated content, so it's likely the reason why you got a copyright notification. The site is completely legal, yes. What users post up to there, that all depends.

Sadly, if more studios would open up their options and make their ad-supported or even paid options appear more appealing over the pirated option, that would help cut down on the want to infringe copyrights. One of my favorite game studios states that piracy is about a distribution problem, one that they have pretty much solved on their own (and is why they are doing quite well even though no games have been released for some time). Once the studios begin streaming TV episodes without the mess that Hulu has become, and begin releasing raw Blu-Ray files (not the over-compressed garbage you find out there) like Sony is currently doing with an experimental movie service for the price of a combo Blu-Ray disk or less, that would be the day. Don't forget about the "pirate now, buy later" concept which REALLY is a thing.

The biggest problem stems from country restrictions, too. Although I sure that has to do more with legal matters and politics rather than a studio's want to extend their reach.
