Every time I dial *86 I get a tome and a recorded message saying my call cannot be completed as dialed. What gives??
*86 doesn't work while you are roaming. If you want to retrieve your voicemail while roaming, just dial your own number from either your cell or another phone, and then press # (or it may be *) when the greeting starts and you'll be prompted to enter your password. Then you'll have access to your voicemail as usual.
Have you already set up your e mail account? After you dial *86 do you hit send? Then Enter your password and press # and listen for instructions. You can also check your messages from another phone - Dial your prepaid wireless number, Press # during the greeting, then enter your password and press # - You can also try resetting your voice mail password by Pressing up on the /Directional Key, then pressing 5 to select6 password. also you might try going to verizonwireless.com/my verizon.
