Need a new phone but don’t have credit score

My family recently moved to the states and wanted to get new phones + data. Some of our family member’s phones are SIM locked so prepaid is not an option. The problem is we don’t have a credit score. I read something about a security deposit and was wondering if we can get phone plans after paying a security deposit?
