I started using the vtext.com service a few weeks ago to send infrequent SMS notifications from my IoT system to my verizon phone. When it stopped working, I found many online threads that seem to indicate it either no longer works, is being sunsetted, or works, but can have long delays and frequent dropped messages. What is the official Verizon status on this service? Is it being replaced? I'm just looking for an occasional SMS service to send a few texts per month to a few personal phones. I don't need a corporate mass messaging account.
