Delete voicemail

My Motorola Droid (version one) has a notification about two new voicemails.  I switched to Google Voice for my voicemail provider and have no messages there, but continue to get the notification about two new messages.  How can I delete the two messages?

Are these on your Verizon voicemail service? Dial *86 to access your Verizon voice mailbox, enter your Verizon password, and listen/delete the messages.

Let me know if this works - I use YouMail and can still access my Verizon voice mailbox with *86.
