Will salt water break my phone

I got a little bit of salt water in my phone and initially it was ok, but then when I took the battery out and put it back in all I got on the screen was USB download and bootblock something (and some numbers).  Is my phone completely screwed?????  Can I still make calls.  I´ve already tried wiping it out with some fresh water twice and same thing happens, so please don´t suggest that and I have no access to anything technological really except this slow internet.  Help please!

Ya used water to clean it??? The phone is or will soon be a brick. NEVER use water to clean out a phone. Water + salt + electronics = dead phone.

 

You MAY had been able to save it of it had just been  in fresh water with rice, (chances slim even with that) but salt also, that will corrode the connectors.
