iPhone 4 bad battery

I got my phone yesterday and fully charged it last night. I got up at 6AM and by 1030AM (ony 4.5 hours) It warned me I was at 10% battery. Im really disapointed, as I didnt bring charger to work because w/ my previous Blackberry I could go days w/o charging it... By noon it was completely dead! And I hardly used it, turned down brightness and etc... What is the problem??? I will be going to Verizon when I get off :smileysad:

There is something wrong with either your phone or battery. I have been using my phone constantly and it last all day. I have to recharge it nightly and there is no more juice at the end of the day, it does last all day.

I at first wondered about this too - then I realized (1) Push Mail sucks up battery - turn it off if you don't need it (2) Location Services sucks up battery - turn them off when not needed (3) All my apps used were still running in the background - Push Home Button twice .... open apps will 'jiggle' .... tap the red x on the ones you want closed .. then push Home Button again.

I found these things helped tremendously with battery longevity. Hope it helps you.

For what it's worth, with only a few exceptions (GPS, etc), Apps don't run in the background.

And the other thing is... My husband got the same phone and he says his is still got almost full battery hours after mine died... and he hasnt made any special adjustments to conserve his battery life... Now that's fustrating :smileysad:

i have the same probly i can use it from about 1pm till 9 or so then it needs a charge u just have to keep the charger on u

It also depends on exactly what ur doing with the phone. For example, like as I type this I am streaming iheartradio and it is sucking battery life like my Hemi sucks gas. But last night for example I sat the phone next to me and only checked Facebook a couple times and a few text messages and that only drained the battery a couple percent over about 3 hours whereas the iheartradio Internet combo took 10% in 1 hour. So see how the phone is being used. But if it's almost dead after a couple hrs with little to no usage then make use of that warranty!!

I think the Iphone battery issue has more to do with the software than anything else. My first day using the phone, my battery went down something like 30% in 1.5 hours. In that time, i barely used my phone (I was at work). I've followed everything to to tee- no multitasking no push, no gps, no wifi, no bluetooth, no wifi - I essentially made my brand new iphone into a regular phone. I even turned off data! Battery was dying by the minute. It was so bad that I had to get a replacement. The replacement phone is better, but still has horrible battery life. I even went to the apple store and they diagnosed my battery as "normal" I don't think my battery is normal by any means. Its frustrating to watch a battery deplete on standby. I must say that the ATT iphone is not like this at all - trust me I know from experience. So, I'm hoping apple updates the software. FAST!

I went to Verizon in Santa Ana on McCarther Blvd. They said Verizon can't change batteries. I have to go to an Apple Store. (Is there such a thing) Anyway. I went to Radio Shack and bought a cell phone tool kit. Replacement Batteries for iphone are under $8.00. I removed two screws for the outer case swapped the battery and started charging. The whole thing takes about 10 minutes max. Too technical for Verizon Wireless stores. pathetic

Congratulations you have just told everyone you voided the warranty of your iPhone. Yes, there is such a thing as Apple stores.

Also this thread is over two years old. I highly doubt the person you replied to will return to see your post.
