Abandoned, falling apart verizon junction box

There is a Verizon yard junction box (33A) in our yard & it's literally falling apart. The cover/door was off of it the other day & now the wires are hanging out exposed. How do we get it removed? We worry about the grandkids or neighborhood kids exploring it.
