Not receiving certain texts after changing my number

I've been having a ongoing issue this past week after changing my phone number where I'm not receiving text messages from certain contacts. my sent text messages have been delivering just fine, but for whatever reason incoming texts from certain people just aren't going through. I've tried every troubleshooting option possible but nothing seems to be working.

for reference, I have a Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra and I use the default text messaging app for it
