Getting iPhone from Apple directly- will that impact my retail promo credit?

Hi all! 2 years ago I got an iPhone 14 Pro from Verizon with trade-in by paying full retail price, I’m getting “Retail Promo Credit” every month for 3 yrs and still have 12 mos to go( currently 24 of 36) at this moment. This year I’m trying to get an iPhone 16 Pro from Apple directly and still pay in full price (cuz I have some Apple gift card to use) . Will that impact my upcoming credits by any chance?

If so, an early device buyout will affect the remaining trade-in credits. Hi Izzy, I’m trying to replace device for my current line (swap from 14 pro to 16 pro). But I don’t quite get what do you mean by early buying out- I’m not financing with Verizon for my 14 pro- I paid in full price 2 years ago.

Also Izzy, upon reviewing the link, I don’t any of these apply to me:

Cancel your service on a line that's getting a promotion. (I’m not canceling my line)
Pay off your device's device payment agreement early. ( I’m not in device payment as I paid in full 2 years ago)
Do an early upgrade on a line receiving a promo. (It’s not a early upgrade because I paid in full so it’s always ready to upgrade)
Some promo credits when you transfer your service to another account. (I’m not transferring)
Change your mobile plan to one that's not eligible for the deal. (I’m not changing plan)

No worries, ringcircle. Most monthly trade-in credits require an active device payment plan. However, based on what you've shared, the phone has already been paid in full. Your iPhone 14 was obtained in a trade-in deal, if I'm reading it correctly. Any device deal is linked to that device only and cannot be transferred. You can buy other phones, but if you activate a new phone on the line where there is a device deal in place, it will void the device deal and your credits will stop. The only ways to not have your credits stop are to get a new line and new phone number for the iPhone 16 you're planning to buy, or leave the iPhone 16 lying around unused until your current device deal is finished before activating the iPhone 16 on your current line.

Hello, ringcircle. Help is still here. With Verizon, we do offer an early upgrade program, meaning, that upon qualifying, you pay 50% of your current phone to send it back in to upgrade early to an approved phone for the early upgrade program. Based on what you stated, you have paid in full your previous device which means, you have satisfied your Device Payment plan. Based on this info you provided, you can upgrade directly through Apple and get any applicable deal they may offer, and it will not have any effect as you have paid in full your previous device.
