Early Preorder Backordered?

As I do every cycle, I woke up at 8am EST (on 9/13 this time around) and preordered two iPhone 16 pros for my wife and I. The result for the last decade plus was receiving a shipping text on the following Wednesday and the the phone arriving 2 days later (9/20). Unfortunately, the text and delivery never came.

After calling, I basically found out the phones were somehow backordered to mid-October despite the early preorder. To me, this is unacceptable and tells me that someone messed up big time. What was the point of ordering early?

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I just being naive here about how often this happens?

We know how important it is to receive your order on time. Did you receive any confirmation for the date of the device? What was the date that showed when you placed your order?

Hello. I received an email order confirmation at 8:24 am on 9/13, but the Verizon website has been stuck on “will be delivered 9/20” since. It still says that despite it being 9/25.

Thanks for checking that, so we'll need to likely look at the account and order itself, to see what we can find. I'll be sending a Private Message so we can do that.
