Lack Of features on my device

Well as it seems what my device which is the fascinate doesn't have froyo as promised that I would get months ago I still havent got so I think verizon should give me and my fellow fascinate owners the update our just give us a upgrade towards a new phone right away

If you needed the features of Froyo, you probably should have bought a device that had it installed right from the start. The OS update process involves 3 large companies, Google, Samsung and Verizon. Everyone has to do a great deal of testing, and Samsung and Verizon have do some agreeing about how different features are implemented, what type of extra programs may be included, etc.

The end result is that the update process takes time, and no one really knows how long it will take until it's done.

Unless you can find in your contract a clause that states that Verizon will provide you with a new phone if they do not upgrade your device to Froyo in a specific amount of time, you're out of luck. You can keep calling and asking different reps for a while though, you never know, maybe you'll get lucky and someone will do something they shouldn't and fulfill your deep sense of entitlement.

I Was going to get the incredible but the guy keeped on trying to get me to get this phone but I guess I just got suckerd in to believe that froyo was going to come out

The reason it has not been released is Samsung has changed the update rules midstream. They now want a per subscriber fee paid for each OS update. Cell companies are balking at that demand.

So Does that mean verizon is the only one not paying up? I mean every other carrier must care enough about their customers to pay for the update then

ATT Just started late last month updating their Samsung.

I honestly dont believe they know. If you search others say Samsung is not updating the OS in nhopes of selling newer units that do have 2.2.
