Hitachi Plasma TV is connected to new Set Top Box but won't work. No Picture.

Question

Verizon hooked up the new set top boxes throughout the house.  Installation went well except for one set top box connected to the Hitachi Plasma TV.   Tech couldn't get it to hook up.  He suggested a cable with a HDMI connector on one end and a DVI connector on the other end might solve the problem.  I purchased a BENFEI HDMI to DVI cable, installed it, but no luck.  Mini cable box is on (green light) but Hitachi TV not receiving signal.  No picture at all. I tried using different TV imput buttons on bottom of TV,  but nothing seems to work.  But... once the new software download for the  Verizon remote was installed, the TV  picture came on without sound but then I couldn't get the picture back once I shut down the TV.   Anyone have any suggestions?  Thank you.

Unplug the HDMI cable from both the TV and Fios box while they are ON. Plug the cable back into the Fios Box, then the TV. The Fios box should recognize the TV and give you a picture. Sounds like the Fios box incorrectly identified the TV as 4K capable, and is sending a 4K signal to it. If that doesn't work  take th box to another TV in the house and in the video menu choose 720P for the video format, then swap boxes back to the plasma.
