Discontinued Veryizon phones that don't need any type of data plan?

Hiya!

I have recently really put a beating on my phone. Right now it won't even charge. Its the Lg Env Touch and its been about 2 years. All i want to do is send and receive texts and pictures plus calls. I don't like any of the features phones and i can't afford the data plans so i was looking at discontinued phones... I found 3 that i love! Do these require data plans?

You will have to choose the $29.99 per month unlimited data plan or the $44.99 per month data plan if you will be connecting to your companies enterprise server, for all smartphones including the Blackberry Curve 8330. The $9.99 plan is not available for the Motorola Q.

So I have a Samsung Reality that's biting the dust fast (screen/phone all together work intermittently) I'm only 1.25 years into a 2 year contract so theres no "free" or "cheap" upgrade coming my way. My friends have offered me a motorola Q or a blackberry curve 8330.From what I've read your saying I would not need a data plan for the motorola Q. If I did want data would I be allowed to have the basic $9.99/$10 that my old Samsung Reailty had? What about the Blackberry Curve 8330? Would I be allowed to use the $10 data plan on the blackberry? By the way, since I've signed my contract with Verizon the data limit on the $10 plan seems have jumped from 25mb to 75mb. Does that take effect on people who already have exisiting plans? For instance has my allowance been uprated to 75mb?

This is just one of the things that gets me about Verizon. Not only do they want to charge you for EVERY LITTLE THING, my mom gave me her LG EnV 3, when I activated it to my number, it said I had to pay $9.99 per month for a data pkg. I don't understand this. On the phone I was using before; LG Chocolate, no data package was required. I won't use any data functions that I did'nt use on the Chocolate on the EnV 3.

SO WHAT IS THE REASON I HAVE TO BUY A DATA PACKAGE IF I DON'T/WON'T USE ANY FUNCTIONS THAT REQUIRE DATA TRANSFER????
