YET.. youve given 0 information on when it would be released, the data plan prices, or how much itll cost on contrct.

This is business as usual for Verizon. They are ALWAYS tight lipped about product launches. Verizon has clearly gone on record stating they feel that giving launch date information too far in advance puts them at a competitive disadvantage so they refuse to do so. I too am waiting for the Thunderbolt, as I live in a 4G market and can't wait to get my hands on one. I have hear rumors that upon launch the mobile hotspot feature will be offered at no charge for a limited time, but then again I was under the impression it would be launched today with the Xoom. Of course the $599 2 year price for the Xoom is a pleasant surprise, I was expecting $799 retail only pricing. Maybe I'll just get one of those to play with until the Thunderbolt is ready.

If they haven't given a release date so close to when the rumared ones are, its probably not coming out for a while. I've never heard of aything having its release date announced a week beforehand. Are they trying to lose customers because I'm about to just forget about this phone and go for something else.

i am about to go to another carrier at the end of the month. i cancelled my contract at bestbuy when i preordered the Tbolt. it ended yesterday, the 25th. so im out of a phone until the 28th, and if im not getting the thunderbolt right then i might get a my touch 4G

I agree. I have no idea why the delay, but I suspect it's due to some unresolved technical problems. Perhaps it's related to the problems they are having with the 4G network.

Has anyone tried to contact Verizon or HTC about the delays? I just sent them an email but they probably wont say anything usefull. I mean if they looked around the web they would notice that their starting to lose customers because they left everyone in the dark. If they just simply explain the reason for the delay I woundn't be angry with them but they haven't said anything. Really shows how much they care.

Well hell I did just hear the first thunder and see the first lightning in a while so maybe its a sign. Its supposed to thunder storm all day tomorrow here so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a release date and then I'll get disappointed when it doesn't happen.

Has anyone had any success in fixing the known echo and auto shut downs with the LG Octane? The staff in the local Verizon store were less than helpful...we are now on Octane #3 and Verizon will not stand behind the lousey phones they sell and allow us to select a different phone without paying for it...lousy customer service..not sure why they would continue to sell a phone that does not meet expectations. Thanks.

I've been so "Naive"!!! This has to be just an advertising gimmick!!! I've caught myself talking to family and friends and colleagues about how this new "HTC Thunderbolt" release keeps moving back. And they're like "I didn't even know it was coming out".

Here's my vision of the ploy. (The big cheeses @ verizon...sitting around a conference table with their lap-tops....reading the forums, blogs and various techno sites...laughing hysterically...saying "look at all these little people...crying and whining...doing all the advertising for us....we don't even need our Marketing Strategist!!! Fire 'em!!!)

Ok....I have to admit...too much time on my hands for my simpleton little brain...

It just seems so "de-ja-vue-ee" to me of when I was waiting on the "Omnia II"...like so many other's....yes...you know who I am talking about!!! lol. I've been ready for a new phone the day I got this turd...pew! But it was all Hype'd Up...anticipation is a crazy thing!!!

well...the "Thunder is getting closer...one-thousand one....one-thousand two...BOOM!

Just like one of my fav songs people..."Thunder-Rolls". I will get the new T-bolt when it comes out...until then...

With the problems Verizon is having with their 4G network, I think it's almost certain, that is the reason for the delay. Regardless, why do people get so upset over such a meaningless thing? This country is rapidly decaying away to nothing.

Yes I remember the Omnia II. I'm the one that started the Omnia II thread that ended up with over 8,000 posts in it.... and all we kept hearing for months was that it was coming out SOON!!! Well, you know what? I never did get an Omnia II. I waited and my next phone was the Droid X, which I have now.

I too think the Thunderbolt would be a wonderful phone.... but I'm not going to get it. I'm looking forward to the Bionic... but who knows, there may be something else available or on the horizon that may catch my eye by that time. I do know that my next phone will be an LTE phone, most likely with the Android OS. (The Droid X was my first Android phone and I really like it) But I won't "pull the trigger" until LTE is up and running where I live (Honolulu, HI.... The Honolulu airport has LTE but that's about 15+ miles from me) Estimates for LTE in Hawaii range from late 2011 to early 2012.... but who knows. But I'm a patient guy, so I'll wait until the time is right and I can get what I want. You won't catch me whining about the Verizon store being sold out when I finally make a decision. You won't hear me say, "This is bulls**t, Verizon should have known they were gonna need lot of phones in stock......" Nope, I'll wait 'til the have it in stock and I'll buy it. Might be the Bionic, or maybe the Droid Viper, who knows.

I don't understand what's going on. Verizon didn't do anything to you. All you're going off of is speculation from tech sites and blogs who think they know or try to piece togther all the hearsay on the internet. When has this ever been truth? There has been no promised release date from Verizon. They don't have a solid announcement to release timeframe either. They had a full month for the iPhone release and pretty similar for the original Droid's, but very small for the Droid X/Incredible. Heck, the Samsung Gem that no one even knows about was announced to employees the same day that it was released to the public via indirect locations. The Pre2 was pretty out of nowher too besides the tech sites.

So in conclusion, don't read the tech sites as gospel. They have failed miserably on so many rumors, but get so many people to take it as truth. See: Droid Eris 2.0 upgrade and Galaxy series 2.2 updates. People were waiting for months and still are based off all the misinformation from that.

Amen, ibanez! I really don't understand all the anger, either. It's a phone that will be out of date two months afer it is released (whenever that is), anyway. Sit tight and get a Pantech or LG modem while you wait if you really want 4G now.

Perhaps checking the Version on your LG Octane can assist with the issue. The new software version: VN530ZV3 (MR1 Part 2)

that was approved on November 11, 2010 and available in stores on December 9, 2010 deals with resolving symptoms that the other party experiences echo sounds during voice call and the phone's LCD turns off and the device locks up during calls. Most the phones should have the software versions VN530V2A first pushed out to the phones and then VN530ZV3 pushed out the phone. This is because to size limitations. Customers should be on VN530ZV3 software and could also choose to have their devices flashed at the Stores to go directly to version VN530ZV3.

Ibanez & Enyalius; Are my eyes deceiving me or am I really seeing Verizon commercials for the 4G Thunderbolt? If Verizon is advertising their product (released or not) it doesn't strike me that they are innocent victims of third party rumors. Sure, it's a shrewd business move to snag all the market share you can, but the customers can have reasonable expectations & grievances too.

As of now this particular topic has gotten 924 "views". Similar discussions below are in the thousands. Granted there are duplicate views. Relatively small numbers yes, but here's the catch: In marketing parlance these are all Highly Qualified Leads, motivated parties, in other words; pure gold. And to make matters worse, we are Market Leaders, people that other less tech-savvy people come to for advise. I've got at least four potential customers asking me about my choices & experiences. You probably have more. Verizon would be stupid to ignore us.

It's a smart move on their part to give us this forum to vent. But you'll find that there are plenty of "venters" at

Sprint , T-Mobile , and AT&T as well, sounding a lot like us, so the "Jumpers" would be well advised to check those sites first.

Was anybody around this time last year? I was waiting on the edge of my seat for months for a Verizon Nexus One...we were even teased with official releases from Google announcing its "soon" arrival. Then one day, *poof* it was announced there would be NO Verizon Nexus one. A few weeks down I was told to get the HTC Incredible, it's just like the Nexus One.

10 months later I am still loving my Incredible. But it's not the Nexus One, the phone I wanted and was told by both Google and Verizon I would get, only to be yanked at the last second.

I guess my greatest irritation is we keep hearing stuff, verizon has the link on their page, nary an email from them...nothing..."coming soon" to me means days, not weeks, or months.

Also, i have been researching a lot....HTC has them shipped, they are in Verizon stores waiting to be released...what game are they playing....

I'm not "upset" nor am I waiting with baited breath...I am eligible for an upgrade, have paid 2 years on CRAP internet on a BB and want to move on, but will NOT settle.

HOWEVER virgin mobile is looking pretty darn good with their unlimited plans

I have to agree with you, Verizon is the most expensive wireless company on the market. Are they worth it ? No, but you can't get out of a 2year contract. That's where they have you !

Sure you can get out of your 2-year contract..... might cost you a few bucks though....
