Retrieving voice mail while out of home country

How do I retrieve a voice mail message while out of my home country? My phone shows that I have a new voice mail but when I dial in the same way I do in my home country I cannot retrieve the message - only leave another one. How do I retrieve the message?

After you dial your cell number, the # sign should prompt you to enter your passcode. But this is the 2nd post about this same issue this week.

The only thing I can add is that you remember that (being outside the country) you must use the international dial pattern when dialing your own number from a local phone. Remember to add "00" and then "1" before dialing your 10 digit mobile number. Also remember that long distance rates may apply when calling from a local phone to your mobile number, so consult the local carrier for those rates before calling. Have a great day!
