questions about switching to verizon

i am currently with another carrierer in a family plan with 1 other line.  my main contract is up mar 15.  the other line is up in nov.  i will have a $95 early cancellation fee to switch carrierers for both phones in mar.  i plan on switching to cos i know more people that use verizon, and verizon has more coverage around my area.

my 1st question is, 'what is the best way to do this?'  .....should i cancel my old, then call and start the new?  vice-versa? which should i contact 1st?  would verizon possibly pay the $95 early cancellation fee for me?

2nd question....  is there some way i could keep my same 2 numbers?

3rdly.....  someone recently told me about verizon having oonline deals on droids. ...buy1, get1 free.  ...any truth to that?

2nd question....  is there some way i could keep my same 2 numbers? If you want to keep your same phone numbers, you will need to "PORT" your numbers from your current carrier to Verizon.  Don't cancel your plan!  Go to a Verizon store, and they will set up the account and take care of porting your numbers.  Once the numbers are ported, your account with the other carrier will cancel.
