Wireless Coverage area

Will the 4G system improve the plain old cell phone coverage area?  I currently live in a valley and there is no coverage except in some spots for several miles.  What can I do to improve my reception?  I can get EV or X1 signal strength in certain spots around my house.

I would say that the 4G LTE network will not improve the EV, 1X, or 3G coverage you have now. The 4G network is accessed by a completely different radio from previous models.
