Number Porting from Shared Family Plan

I'm currently part of a share family plan and would like to get my own account but at the same time would like to port my number to Google Voice. My contract is up so I shouldn't get an ETF. But because porting the number will cancel my contract, will it affect the shared family plan or will the monthly bill just be reduced as it is no longer including my phone?

As you describe, porting your number will cancel your line of service with Verizon.  This will NOT cancel any of the other lines on your Family Share Plan, and since your line is not under contract, you will not owe an ETF.

 

If your line is the primary line, it may cause some issues, so I would reccomend swapping it to a secondary line position by calling CS before you initiate the port.

 

If your line is the only other line on the plan, then the remaining line should probably change to an Individual plan to save money.  They can do this by calling CS.
