Mifi 4510L - Use Verizon Wifi Hotspots

I used to have the Mifi 2200 - and was able to cable up to the mifi - and use the Vz Access Manager to authenticate to the verizon wifi hotspots at airports, etc.

In getting the 4510, I see the Access Manager is no longer used/needed/supported, so how do I authenticate now to use the wifi hotspots...

Support, and my local store had no clue.

In order to use wifi hotspots, VZ AccessManager 7.2 must installed and communicating with your Mobile Broadband device. Since the 4G devices do not use VZ AccessManager, there is no communication with the Verizon wifi networks. For more details and information, please click here.

Will Verizon be providing an alternative way for users of the newer Mifi's that don't support the VZ manager to authenticate?

There is no need to authenticate on the 4G Mifi devices. The programming is done over the air.

I'm new here and may be missing the point but I don't believe that response answers the question.

As I read the question, and what I would like to know as well, is how can the 4G 4510 be used to logon to Verizon hotspots?

3G devices can do that. Why can't the 4510? The answer may be that the 4510 has a lame USB port implementation that will work for nothing but updating.

Telling us that the 410 doesn't work with manager software is not the answer. The question is why not? When will 4510 users be able to use airport hotspots?

I apologize if we were unclear before in our explanation. At this point this device is not supported for our free Verizon Wifi hotspots. We have lifted this up as a suggestion to our product team, but this feature will not be available at this time.
