Exchange ActiveSync

I've been trying to set up my work email on my Droid Eris using the Echange ActiveSync, but it won't let me. It keeps saying that it can't connect to the Exchange server when I have the correct info in the fields. Does anybody know why it is doing this?

We recommend you contact your IT Department to ensure you have the correct server information. If the information is correct then you will need to contact us for further assistance at 800-922-0204. We are available seven days a week 6AM to 11PM CST.

I just joined this forum so i'm new here. I'm not sure if you still need this information or not but I had this issue when I upgraded my Moto Droid to Android v 2.2 back in 2009. When that happened I stopped receiving corporate email via Exchange Active Sync.

Google included security requirements with v 2.2 which required Android phones to have a valid certificate issued by a trusted CA. The problem was that my Exchange Server 2007 did not have the certificate installed. We had a valid certificate issued by VeriSign but it was not installed on the server. Once we installed the valid certificate we already had, my emails synced up immediately.

I'm posting this for all to see just in case Google decided to exclude or include the security feature in subsequent upgrade versions. Everyone should check with their IT dept to verify that their corporate exchange server has a valid certificate installed by a trusted CA.
