No Message Waiting Indicator -Home Phone Connect

I recently replaced Vonage with Verizon Home Connect. I am using the same phones and set up I did with Vonage. However my Verizon home connect does not trigger the message waiting indicator like Vonage did. Do I need to activate this or does Verizon not support this?

The Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) is in fact supported by Verizon Wireless. In order to determine why you are not being notified of your messages, additional troubleshooting is necessary. I apologize peter100. I stand corrected, as I may have misread your question. The Home Phone Connect device itself has a Message Waiting Indicator (MWI), that alerts you when you have a message. The device will NOT trigger the MWI on a separate device. One way to resolve this would be to circumvent the Voice Mail. In other words, you can hook your phone up to an answering machine, and set that device to answer in fewer rings than your Home Phone Connect. This way, when a caller leaves a message on that device, it may prompt the indicator on your phones as you had requested, if the device has that capability.
