Internet connection mode on Thunderbolt not working

Internet connection mode does not seem to work on the thunderbolt. I've been using the verizon hot spot feature to connect my laptop in the meantime. I heard though that the hot spot ability may go away or be charged soon, would like to get the internet connection mode fixed if that happens. Has everyone with a thunderbolt, tried connecting their laptop to try accessing internet, perhaps many don't know about it..

I have had this problem of and on since day one with my thunderbolt. Have spoken to customer service at both HTC and Verizon with no help. Has gotten worse over time and now the function doesn't work at all. I will be making calls again. If I get an answer I will share it!
