Phone to PC connection problems

I got a Motorola Rival over the weekend and everytime I try to connect it to a pc, the phone pops up a "unauthorized charger" message. The USB cable is from an enV touch. I was told at the store that any USB cable would work. Is there any way that I can make the phone recognize the USB cable.

Um yea far as I am aware that usb cable should work. Would maybe suggest www.vzam.net get the best software for your connection and see if updating that works if not. Time to call 800-922-0204

what happens if I can't find the driver for my phone on vzam.net? or do i just have to call the number.

If you can't find the driver on that site, there might not be one available for your phone. You should call and find out, there might be another way of getting it, however, if there is a driver, be aware that they're likely going to tell you that they can send you the cd, but it will cost you...
