Question about speed, price, and location for home internet service.

I am thinking of switching from Centruy Link to Verizon wireless internet and had a couple of questions. 

 

 

What is the highest meg that is offered in my area? I am currently using 10meg do they offer higher than that in my area? My area zip code is 37604.

 

 

I currently use a hard wired DSL set up, with Verizon wireless what all equipment will i need to get set up, just a usb stick? I want to use it with a laptop is this possible. I currently do not have any other services with Verizon. 

 

Oh yeah and what is the price? If i read it right 10 meg is 80 dollars thats twice  what i am paying now.

You are understanding the info incorrectly.

 

You can get 4G wireless service in certain areas. Johnson City will be getting 4G service sometime this year. With 4G service you are allowed for your $80/month to use 10GB of data before incurring overage charges. Yes there is a limit on the amount of data you can use.

 

Speeds vary greatly among areas that do have 4G service. Right now you would receive 3G service and speeds are roughly 1.5-3MB. It can be less also. But you need to be near the tower for the upper end and not have alot of traffic on that tower.

 

Isnt Charter or Comcast available in Johnson City?
