Verizon = Rip Off

Why does Verizon charge to have Usage Control, when the whole point of having that is to save money and prevent overages from occurring??? Is there a way to stop messages from coming in if you've reached your plan limit, without paying for a "Usage Control" feature?

Your only other option would be to upgrade your text bundle to the next level and backdate it to cover the whole month. In my opinion, this is a much more favorable option as the upgrade is usually only like a $5 difference and you can keep texting for the remainder of the month. Just make sure you go back down in your text bundle (although, if you're having overages, you might want to go ahead and keep it upgraded) on your next cycle date.

Yes I say it's a rip off ,
but on the other hand why should the cost of that service be passed on to all customers as in a higher billing , when some will not use it or have no need for it ,, (IF) it's you kids running up your billing ,, just a pay for the service or take away there phone for a month or two , kids lived with out cell phone for years , get over it ..
Or you can just move to another Co. , it's just a cell phone
