UML290 and external antenna (part #WINDLTEANT)

Does anyone know any details about the "Antenna for LTE"? There isn't much on the Verizon website. Here is the link:

I bought one anyway (and the required adapter) and tried it out at home. It's not clear how much it improves the signal. I generally have a strong 4G connection at home.

But I'll be traveling to an area that has 3G, but no 4G LTE service yet. Will the antenna improve my 3G signal, or is it purely a 4G-only antenna? If only 4G, can I buy a 3G antenna for the UML290?

Hey jmouel, great question! Generally, signal enhancement devices are designed to improve overall performance of the device you attach it to. My understanding is that the antenna will not discriminate between 3G or 4G. It will merely strengthen/enhance your wireless experience. I hope that helps!

Do not waste your time and money on this item. I live in a 3G area and it does nothing to improve my reception. The antenna comes with no instructions. I have to ports on my UML290 but it does nothing in either port.

Is that the problem? Is there a difference between a 3G signal and a 4G signal. There are no directions to tell me so. Nor does the webpage say that it's only for a 3G or 4G. What's up with that, does anyone know the answer?
