The phone manages apps just fine. The longer you use it the more the phone will only keep the the applications you use in the memory. Even the apps that are in the memory are not using the cpu.
If you want an app manager, try System Panel Lite.
i'm not an app killer fan. just something else to pull on the batteryturn them off:next time you use the app you need to kill it again.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. You can also monitor your running apps by going to Settings>Applications>Running Services. Touch and hold application to close it.

Even by going to Settings>Applications>Running Services, the apps stop but turn right back on. I'm beginning to think this is one of the ways Verizon makes money on data! There are so many apps running that I don't use, have never used and will never use it uses all my data. Help!
