Phone Won't Work!

I have a LG VX5500 and have had it for almost two years. The last couple weeks it has been acting up. I was having trouble getting it to charge. An error message would come up saying, 'this cable is not recommended for this phone' and wouldn't charge it. This was the charger that came with the phone. Now last night, I had the phone charging all night. It charged fine. I took it off the charger and it was fine for a few hours. I went to check the time on my phone and it was off. I tried to turn it back on by pressing the on button and the verizon logo and sound came on,  but then went black and keep showing the verizon logo on a loop. I tried to take the battery out, I tried to leave it out for a little bit, I tried to plug it into the charger, nothing worked. If aanyone has any clue how to fix this, or at least get my phone turned on, PLEASE HELP! I'm sure I will be having to go to Verizon tomorrow but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

In reading your post, are you still having the reported issue with your LG VX5500? Sometimes a phone screen could be off to save power and simply hitting the power button can revive the screen. Perhaps as a suggestion, when you go to charge the phone, keep the charger plugged in when you go to turn the phone on after charging to make sure it took a complete charge. Then carefully remove the charger from the phone and see if it remains on without powering off. If it stays powered on ok, if you want to try to power cycle the phone, give it a try as power cycling can do a soft reset and help clear out any lingering error messages.
