So, recently I hear about Verizon introducing rated plans for data usage, but existing customers are grandfathered in with unlimited data. I assume that means since I currently (and have for the past few months) pay for unlimited data, then I should be able to tether my phone and use the Internet Connection Mode. However, just last night my phone updated. I'm guessing it was Verizon software? Well, I can no longer tether.
It tells me "Warning: If you would like to subscribe to Mobile Hotspot/Mobile Broadband Connect, Call: **gives Verizon tele #s"
I'm sort of frustrated with this. Last month I had used a whopping 134Gb of data via tethering my phone. I know that's a TON, and its all completely legitimate. I do a lot of video/sound file editing for people, and constantly have to upload/download files. When you look at it, uploading a single 3Gb video package with sound clips and the sort, 2-3 times a day adds up Ever since I found out my 4G connection provided a faster U/D rate than my terrible Verizon cable line, I would use the "Internet Connection Mode" to do that stuff.
Honestly, I don't see any real reason my account would be "suspended" (if that's even what happened) when I'm not torrenting or doing anything illegal via tether. I turned down the mobile hotspot feature because I could tether for free...
Anyone care to explain?
