Maybe what the message meant was that the caller ID was blocked. You had a missed call with blocked caller ID.
What do you mean by "blocked a missed call"? If your phone shows the missed call, it was not blocked on your end. Had the call been blocked by a setting on your phone or Verizon account, you would not have seen the missed call indicator, because it would never reach your phone.
If the missed call showed as coming from "blocked" instead of the number, that is because the person calling you has restrictions in place to prevent you from seeing their number on your Caller ID.
