Gmail and Market Stopped Loading and Contacts Missing Incredible 2

Loved my phone until about 3 days ago. Suddenly I noticed my contacts were all gone....my gmail app and market apps stopped loading.

Gmail message that I could see as it was a fast "warning" indicated the gmail acct was not set up to sync. Tho it was, i deleted and added it again. No luck. Market app shows a quick white screen then back to home screen.

Cleared data of both apps. Can't uninstall as don't have that choice. My contacts still reside on my online gmail acct.

I have not downloaded any new apps for awhile so that isn't the problem. Not sure what to do but sure would like to hear a solution so I can go back to loving my phone. Hoping not to reset to factory settings....that seems rather severe.

Please help!

My phone has done the same thing... Any solutions? It appears as though the phone is not seeing the google account? A permissions issue?

Most of the time, contacts randomly missing is due to the views changing in the address books. Here's what you'll need to do to alter the contacts view. Go to contacts> press menu key> view> check the Gmail account (if it's unchecked)> Done. Check the contact list and see if they have re-appeared. If they are still in Gmail, they are likely still on your phone, but they are not displaying.

You can tell if the contact is still in the phone by dialing the number manually. If you manually enter in someone's number in the dialer and press call/send, and their name appears, they are still stored in your phone somewhere. I always suggest that people have a double backup of their contacts.

You can back up your contacts on the SD card by pressing contacts> menu key> more> import/export> export to: SD card. This will load a copy of your contacts onto your memory card in case your sync program fails.

Let me know if that fixes things.

What about the market? I have all my contacts but my market is not loading. Is it a verizon issue or a google issue?

Only way to fix it and get your market and gmail working is to do a factory reset and wipe all data from the device.
