Blackberry Storm 9530 mobile hot spot

How do I make my Blackberry Storm 9530 a mobile hot spot? I went into My Verizon on my phone and added it to my options and there were no further messages or emails such as "how to set up your mobile device as a mobile hot spot" which I would think should be pretty standard, yet it hasn't happened yet.

Can I have some suggestions as to how the hot spot gets loaded, additionally how I can keep my co-workers off of my wi-fi as everyone has an iPhone or an iPod Touch in the office and they'll all try to jump on an unsecured network or hot spot of any form.

I don't have a Blackberry, but for other phones, you need to download a Verizon app to enable and configure the hot spot. Have you looked in the Verizon catalog section of your version of an "app store"? Once you have that app, you can configure the hot spot, including setting a password on the WiFi network that is created. That should prevent unauthorized users from borrowing your signal.

Storm does not have the hardware (or software) capability to be used as a Mobile WiFi Hotspot. I suggest you deselect that option in your plan as you are spending money for a service you cannot utilize.

Rumors are that the new line of Blackberry phones are Mobile Hotspot capable. The question is whether Verizon will enable those capabilities. I sure hope so. I think they will as they generate additional revenue. Those new phone are due to be released in the next 1-4 months.
