Finally....

Maybe it's been seen already since I haven't been around a lot of TV for the last week, but this morning, there's a Verizon commercial with the 9-8-2011 release date of the Droid Bionic.

My geekbuddies at the Verizon store have promised me a look first thing "that morning" when the store opens (Friday, they said "we're not quite sure when it's going to be released", wink, wink). Not expecting lines on it like the Droid X was, but they say they are getting a lot of calls on it.

Yeah, yeah, no one cares, it seems. But I'm in a good position, what with 3 lines eligible for upgrades and Ebay at my fingertips, I can afford to play with the new phones coming out including, yes....(long, long sigh)...whatever Verizon is coming out with that's the Samsung variant of the Galaxy S2. And after the Omnia II (had one) and the Fascinate (watched people struggle with it), it had better be a biotchin' hell of a phone to get an iota of my interest.... :smileyvery-happy:

not sure if THIS is a new page on the site or not? but just saw it this morning. of course, actually signing up for the email alerst is useless, but i don't think they put these pages up until they KNOW the device is launching. have fun on friday....the phone looks like a beast!

Yeah, Happy soakin' WET Labor Day for a lot of us. A lot of my cohorts had shows canceled this weekend. But if they are like me and have to work most holidays like that, they ain't too broke up about it (glad my Boss doesn't read this).... :smileyvery-happy: . Fortunately, all of our shows are indoors this weekend.

There are some folks on Android Central claiming to have already gotten the Bionic somehow or another. The reports they are making are positive, but they haven't had it long enough for more than initial impressions. Battery life and real-world speeds have yet to be determined, but all of that in due time. Hell, I won't know what the real 4G performance is for a while...unless I travel to the university in MS where LTE will be for the time being... :smileymad: I still don't get the logic of lighting up LTE in a small town with a major university over the largest and busiest city in MS (which is an oxymoron all its own, I know), but as usual, they didn't ask me... :smileywink: Ooh, come to think of it, I WILL be at that university for the first week of October, maybe LTE will be up by then.

Here's to the 8th (on a Thursday, BTW)..
