hey guys im having trouble with this verizon iphone 4s ...i am in india right now and want to use vodafone local sim here...but the problem is my sim portion is locked i think...how can i unlock it here or contact verizon customer service in india?

-You must be a Verizon Wireless customer
-The device being unlocked must be active on a Verizon Wireless line of service.
-The line of service must be active for at least 60 days.
-The line must be in good standing for at least the last 60 days (no service suspensions or hotlines)
-One SIM unlock is approved per line every ten months.

Hello, Will Verizon assist users which are out of country but they are not the essential buyer of the phone, basically they dont have account with Verizon neither live in the States, if the phone doesnt have bad ESN?
From user's stand point if I have a phone for which I paid, ESN is clear, why I wouldnt get it unlocked to use it internationally?

Hello Christina, I understand the ground rules for unlocking which are already set. I would like to know one additional information in this regards. Does it have to be the essential user of the phone to perform unlock or it doesnt matter who bought the phone essentially from Verizon? Example: If I am Verizon customer more than 60 days and I fulfill all the requirements for unclocking but I bought on eBay iphone with clean ESN (not lost nor stolen) will I be able to unlock it?

I am VZ customer and my contract for iphone 4 is completed. I need to unlock that iphone 4 and buy NEW iphone 5 and give my old iphone 4 to my brother in India. In India TATA is having CDMA service and they need to unlock this phone in order to hook it up to there network.
