I'm glad you asked this question as it comes up very often. The steps to erase icons on the Samsung Galaxy Tab is similar to how it's done on the Galaxy S devices. Simply press and hold the icon until a garbage can appears at the bottom of the screen. While still holding the icon on the screen, you can drag the icon over the garbage can and it will remove the icon from the home screen.
