Question about sim card

I just pulled out my sim card thinking it might help reestablish my data connection but all it did it appears was to deactivate my phone even after i reinstalled. Do i need to take the phone back to verizon to reactive it or is there something i can do

Sim cards are finicky... be sure it's seated properly.  If so, you may need to re register your sim card with verizons servers.  I recently had to replace my sim card and had problems connecting with the ota update service to update my system version.  I read on the motorola forum (I have the Bionic) that replacing or removing and reinstalling sim card would sometimes require factory reset of phone.  I backed up my data using MyBackup Pro app and did the reset.  Everything worked fine after the reset.  Did a restore of my backed up data and apps and everything is fine.  Does take quite a bit of time to do the reset and reboot... so be patient while the phone reboots and begins it's startup.  It will prompt you ... and have you log into your google account.  Good luck.
