Why & how?
Why can I not set up my Cox.net email on my new Stratosphere? If it is possible, how is it done using the Stratosphere's operating system and not the K-9 app as done by the Verizon store techies? TIA

Just got my new stratosphere yesterday-my very first smart phone and I can't get my cox email to install either-called verizon and was on the phone with them for about an hour and they told me to call cox-called cox and on phone with one of their reps and no luck there either--am I supposed to change my email address!! ?? ... also having big problems with battery draining very quickly and it takes almost 3 hours to charge it completely. AND to top it all off camera not working properly. Get message that no sd card detected. Very frustrated :smileysad: I want to send it back. Can I?
I could be way off base here, but here is something to try..
1.) Click "My Accounts".
2.) Click "Add account"
3.) Click "Email"
4.) Enter you email credentials and make sure that the " Automatically configure account" Check box is unchecked.
5.) Click " Next"
6). Click " General settings" and make sure that the info displayed is correct.. Click "OK"
7.) Click " Incoming Server" depending on what State you are in you will need to enter different information in this field;
For these states:
AR – Arkansas
CT - New England
FL - Gainesville-Ocala
FL - Gulf Coast
GA - Middle Georgia
ID - Idaho
KS - Kansas
LA - Baton Rouge Area
LA - New Orleans
NE - Omaha
OH - Cleveland
OK - Oklahoma
RI - New England
VA - Fairfax - East
VA - Fredericksburg
VA - Hampton Roads
VA - Roanoke
You will need to enter- pop.east.cox.net
AZ - Phoenix AZ - TucsonCA - Orange CountyCA - Palos VerdesCA - San DiegoCA - Santa BarbaraNV - Las Vegas
You will need to enter- pop.west.cox.net
8.) Click " Advanced Settings"... make sure that both "Use secure connection" and "Verify Certificate" are checked and that the port is set to 995.
9.) Click "OK"
10.)Click "Outgoing Server" once again depending on what state you are in you will need to enter different info in this field;

You will need to enter- smtp.west.cox.net
11.) Click "Advanced Settings" Make sure that "Use secure connection" and "Verify Certificate" are both Unchecked set the port to 587
12). Click "OK" until you are back to the "My accounts" screen.
13.) Cross your fingers and send some test emails.. :smileyhappy:
