Sync Outlook with Stratosphere

Does anyone know how I can sync Microsoft Outlook 2010 with the Samsung Stratosphere? Specifically, I would like to be able to look at the calendar I have on Outlook. I can already look at the emails, as I have them through my Verizon email address. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We receive this request fairly often, and there are a number a ways of accomplishing this. The first method can be found here. Basically, it's a plugin that syncs your Microsoft Outlook calendar with Gmail. Once it's in your Gmail calendar, it updates on your phone.

You may find some 3rd party sync apps out there by performing an internet search for it. Sometimes the manufacturer has software out there to do what you're trying to accomplish, but I checked Samsung's website, and even chatted with a rep to confirm they don't have any software to do a cable sync with Outlook. They have Kies for some other models, but not the Stratosphere.

Many customers have had success using the Outlook plugin downloaded from Google directly (my first link).

MIke S: this works for me too, but for calendar only. Can you help me with contacts? I use MS OL 2010 as my contacts and back up at My verizon. But cannot figure out how to synch to my phone dynamically. Thanks...Steve

There isn't really a way to dynamically sync your contacts with Outlook. You can export your contacts from Microsoft Outlook 2010 and import them into Gmail. Since your phone is syncing with Gmail, the contacts will appear on your phone. There are plug-ins that you can download to your PC that sync contacts dynamically from Outlook to Gmail. Since these are 3rd party, I can't recommend a specific one. Here's a Google Search about doing exactly that. Essentially as long as you add a contact in one of the 3 sources, it should update all 3. Stratosphere -> Gmail -> Outlook. Once you update one, it updates all 3.

I hope you find this info helpful. It's an extra hoop you have to jump through, but I'm confident you will be able to get this working.
