Sound volume problem

OK, here is my story:

I had a fascinate that was having the known problem of not receiving phone calls. I called CS and they gave me a couple of choices of a certified like new phone. I choose the HTC Incredible 2. The problem is that the sound volume (even at the highest level) is so low and tinny that I never hear any phone calls come through and the speakerphone is horrible. If I slide the volume to halfway down and I can't hear anything!! At least with the fascinate I did get some calls that went through!! Did I get a bad phone?

Are you adjusting the volume during the call?

There are some Sound Managers that allow you easy access to all the volume levels. I like Sound Manager by Daniel Roozen.

I guess it possible to have a bad speaker.

Sorry, I should have made my post clearer. The earpiece sound is fine when I'm a phone call (well except for the speakerphone, that's horrible). What I am having a problem with is with the phone's speaker. When someone calls me I can barely hear it ring even though I have the volume rocker all the way up and I have tried all the ringtones and a couple of mine.. I miss all my calls.

Had the same problem. Switched from a Fascinate to a new Incredible 2. Earpiece volume was fine, but couldn't hear the phone ring. Emailed HTC support and they said sometimes apps that were installed could turn down the system volume of the phone. You can't get to the system volume through the main settings of the phone. I did a factory reset first and that didn't work. I downloaded Volume Control by ReVsoDev for free and turned my system volume all the way up. Made a slight improvement but not much. Found another app called Volume+ (Sound Boost) by Meltus for a $1 something and that has made all the difference. Don't even have to have my ringer volume above half now and can hear it loud and clear. Hope that helps.
