HTC Incredible continuous reboot when powering on.

With the phone powered off and the light in the upper right hand corner of the phone is green, when I attempt to power on my phone, it starts up, reboots, starts up, reboots etc about 5 times and then the light in the upper right hand corner is solid orange.

I've got the phone plugged into a wall outlet.

Any ideas what may be the issue?

I went to another Verizon store today and asked them to put a new battery in my phone to see if that helped any. They first tried a master reset but couldn't get the phone to boot. It kept rebooting continuously. They put in a new battery and wala! It boot up. I told them I didn't want to buy their battery. I am thinking about the Seidio Innocell 3500 mAh. Is this a good choice?

this will clear all data but you can try this.

Turn the power off. If your HTC DROID Incredible is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
Hold the Volume Down button
Hold the Power button until the display turns on
You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button to select
Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

I just went into my friendly Verizon store. I told them the issue, they said my phone is out of warranty (by one week :smileysad: They tried to do a reset - failed. Buy a new phone I am told, this one is toast. After only a year I say... They reply, electronics are flakey...

They did not attempt a master reset which clears all data. A master reset will cure what ails ya.

Here is what they tried:

Power on phone and hold the "volume down button". A white screen would flash for a 1/2 second. They unplugged the battery and tried again. Same result.

I am charging the phone now. It's got an orange led right now. If I can get to the boot window, which option do I select for a "master reset"?
