Mobile Hotspot Plan Change

Hey all,

I'm going on a road trip soon and I figured that getting mobile hotspot could be pretty useful. I just have two questions about it that I can't seem to find the answers to anywhere. First, is mobile hotspot a month-to-month expense (i.e. can I cancel it after this month?), second does getting mobile hotspot require me to re-sign my contract? I currently have unlimited data grandfathered in and I really don't want to lose that.

You can add and remove the mobile hotspot as needed. However keep in mind, if you keep it for only 7 days, you are only allowed what would be a proration of what data would be be for 7 days. Not the full 5GB.

 

1024MB x 5 = 5120

5120 / 30 = 170.6 MB

170.6 x 7 days = 1194MB  So if you went over, you would have overages on top of the cost of the plan.

 

And no you do not re-sign a contract for the hotspot as it is an addon.
